Whats the orange thing and hose for? That looks pretty high-tech?

It's mining gear.  The orange thing is a leaf blower attached to a 5 gallon bucket.  Serves as a vacuum and also supplies air for the drywasher via the hose.  This was a mining load up picture:). Really like the Garvin rear rack.  Still plenty of room underneath when I sleep in the Xterra.

I did make something for this though.  Was trying to extend my season and made a portable evaporative cooler out of a 5 gallon bucket.  Will post some pics.  Ended up giving it to our mining neighbor so he could use it over the summer and give it a good test run.  I'll post some pics shortly

It usually is the small stuff, but once in a while you come across some nice pickers.  It's hard dusty back breaking work, but it gets me off the sofa and outdoors.

I was reading your profile and I noticed this is your second truck. I as well decided to buy my second truck .(White X and now Black X)

At least you are close to The Superstations MT's and Roosevelt Dam. The long and winding road thru Saguaro Lakes .  Lots of lost history out there!

One of my favorite  day trips!

That is a nice drive, I've done some quail hunting and camping back in there.....beautiful country.  Would be a nice event trip for us entry level off-roaders:)  Plenty of places to camp and fishing to boot.

Welcome!

Definitely want to check out your solar panel.  I have mine attached to the roof rack, which I can tilt by loosening the roof rails and lifting on one side.

had it hard mounted to the DEP rack and even flat it averaged about 40-50 watts, but it took up 3/4 of the rack.  removed it so I could have the rack powder coated and will more than likely just use it as portable in the future.  Set it up once I get to camp.  I did however like the no fuss of having it on all the time.  If I go permanent again, id probably go with the renogy 100w panel.  I am very impressed with the quality and power output for the price.

Id like to set up a 100W on a sliding tray under the rack that could be deployed and stored quickly.
