Thank- you for the replies and welcomes, RJCX and DZRT !
Conundrum- thank you for the pic assist !

I don't usually go out off roading just for the sake of getting the truck dirty but my hobby takes me to some pretty remote areas of the southwest US and Mexico.
I'll just let the pics explain my hobby....

Me risking life and limb for a picture...

And here's what I'm going out in search of....

Sorry if I went a little picture heavy but rattlesnake photography is obviously an obsession of mine  !

Thanks ! I will see you at the meeting on Friday. I really look forward to meeting everyone !
I shoot a Sony R1. The speckled rattlesnake was shot in direct sunlight which is why it's kind of washed out. You touch-up doesn't represent the snakes true color. It highlights the brown too much wich really takes away from the snakes beauty.  If you are a photographer, I have a few of them at my house. We can set up a photo session and you can shoot your own screensaver !

I just take pictures for fun, I wouldn't call myself a photographer. I would like to go do a hunt for some cool snake pics with you when the weather warms up though. Out of curiosity what kind of rattler is that? Southwesten Speckled? The only thing I know about snakes is to try and not get bitten. haha

It is a southwestern Speckled rattlesnake. ( Crotalus mitchellii pyrrhus ) They come in many different colors and that particular one is from the Tinajas Altas mountains, down by Yuma.
I'll take you out and show you some snakes this year. Just let me know what looks interesting !
