ARB Locker Compressor Upgrade

I finally bought a new compressor and tank for an upgrade to the ARB locker compressor which I had to repair a while back because I kept trying to fill tires with it.  50% duty cycle at 30 PSI will run a locker for a lifetime but all the magic smoke comes out when you fill 33" tires with it regularly.  The old ARB still works after the repair but I want on board air for filling tires.

100% duty cycle at 100 PSI.  3 gallon tank.  $160

The new compressor should fit where the ARB is mounted.  Found a place to mount the tank where the factory spare tire winder was.  Figured a way to keep the pressure switch and locker actuator pretty much where they are now so all I have to run to the new tank is air line with an option to just plug the port to the tank and still have a locker until I get the tank mounted or if  the air line gets damaged.

Just need to decide where the tire filler fitting is going.  Probably on the back bumper behind the license plate light.

Let's see if I can put pictures inline here. (Not so much, I tried, I failed, you'll have to look at the pics at the bottom of the post)

The space where it is going.  With the fat ass wire harness bundle right in the way.

The factory threaded holes where the cruise control bracket originally mounted on the wheel well.- that bracket held the ARB ok but the new compressor won't fit on it.

Shelf and feet.  Shelf is 11 ga sheet metal.  Feet are from some floor jack platform kit I bought and never used.

I'll be damned, the holes in the feet line up with the threaded fender holes I was aiming for.  I was almost as happy as I was surprised that I got it tacked up right the first time.  The shelf is as level as that wheel well... it'll do.

I'm going to try and get it installed for real tomorrow after the paint on the bare metal shelf dries.

Looks good. I still need to make an OBA for mine still doing Viair 400p portable unit.

Try out a PUMA you can run an impact wrench and set the bead on a tire. $250
Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.

**Update**

Puma setup seems to big and bulky i dig the viair by how small it is and airs up 35s from 15psi to 40 psi in about 3.5-4 mins each depending on altitude. All i need now is a 2-3 gallon tank where my spare used to be. I will be getting a cordless impact by Milwaukee or dewalt soon.

Compressor installed.  It makes pressure, holds air, works the locker, doesn't burp.  :)  The air chuck you see in the picture is on the tee where the air line for the tank will connect, directly, eventually.
