Hackberry creek

If we choose hackberry we have to scout it out before so we don't have any unexpected obstacles with a large group.

So that means we have to do a scout run lol.

Let's go January! I've ran half at night 2x, half during day. And full at night.

It's pretty easy geographically wise.

I mostly just want to see the ca/nv wheel their rigs

I read and heard it has been smoothed out a lot over the years with the increased mining activity, I recall it having some long boulder fields but I know those have been flattened out to almost nothing now.

Rubio when you say full run did you run it in from the 60 and out to the 177?

Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.

I ran the loop along the powerline.

Skids and sliders needed. I'm t swapped with 4.5" lift and had difficulty on this trail

We should be able to run multiple trails at a time, I'd like to have at least one green trails for those who would like to attend.  That is what makes planning this event difficult, there are a lot of considerations.  It would be nice if the event was easily accessible from out of state, there should be both Red and Green trail availability within driving range to a large enough camping spot to handle 25ish rigs.

Yes, this exactly. Just how Cali had done a couple years ago. They had a meet up at the camping spot, an optional night run on a simple trail. Next morning, an easy group and a difficult group. Met back up at camp that evening. next morning a huge group on an easy/ moderate trail and we broke off from home after that. I was perfect, having the options for difficulty present and then having a moderate goodbye trail.

I think first set the tone for the event then choose a place 2WD friendly or 4WD only or a mix of the two. From what I have seen we have a pretty good mix of everything in the club, I would like to see some stats or a poll on that information.

How many people are 2WD

How many people are 4WD Stock

How Many people are 4WD Lifted 33" or locked

How Many people are 4WD Lifted 35"+ or locked or SAS or TS

I think CK would exclude most 2WD and stockers, but then again I haven't been up there is years.

I think Florence Junction area has the most variety of trials with a centralised camping location. Lots and lots of trail choices for everything from stock to extreme.

Sedona is really nice and scenic for someone who has never seen it.

Tough choice but FJ is the only area I think that would satisfy all needs for every group. I can think of 3 or 5 trails that are all day trips with the bonus of some fun night runs. The limiting factors are weather, it can be monsoon rain, blazing heat, or wild weather shifts from 95* to 50* at night.

After seeing Chuy's suggestion earlier, and his description of FJ on the kickoff run topic I think it would work great as a CANVAZ suggestion that satisfies the availability of choice for all members

Sounds about right, I ran it in my Jeep wrangler 6" Lift on 35" KM2's and from what I recall it was fairly rough in some spots. I have never done the full trail from highway to highway but have always wanted to do it from the 177 to the 60.

I would be up for a cruise if an overnight stay is involved. I wouldn't mind hitting up several trails in a multi day expedition. There are a lot of really fun trails I haven't done in forever like telegraph canyon road, battle axe, etc. The water crossing should be much easier during the winter time.

I think I'm available the 2nd and 3rd weekend in January, if you want to get a group together for scouting?

Friday is a little too short notice for me to take off, what about Saturday or Sunday? I haven't run CK since 09' so Im curious to see what it looks like now.

I went ahead and added a date, hopefully this is far enough in advance we can get a lot of members.

I have been playing with the idea of Friday doing a mid day meet up for a Broken Arrow run, ending with camping at end of the world.  Not sure our friends from Cali or Nevada would be able to make that by mid day.

I was hoping to avoid a large group Saturday Broken Arrow congestion nightmare.  Also, there are some runs around Kingman that look promising.
