  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

Sounds like Moss Wash is a must do.
Here's a schedule idea rough draft.

Friday
Pass Canyon (Red-Still needs Pre run)

Maybe 3 runs Saturday, Red/Blue/Green.
Moss Wash (Red), Secret Pass (Blue), TBD (Green)

Sunday 2 runs
Cloride Mine(Red),TBD(Green)

I really liked the cattail cove trail, but its about 2hrs to the trailhead from the current best camping spot and it would have to be limited to like 8 rigs.

Just a suggestion, but Table Mesa has everything you are looking for, and it is only 30 miles north of Phoenix.  It has all trails from easy 2WD trails to some of the most difficult 4WD trails in the US (body damage and mechanical breakage expected).  Also, there are very large camping spots, plus all kinds of dispersed camping.  You can get RVs back in there, and any trailer you can tow.  Plus, target shooting is permitted - I've seen and heard everything from .22cal to .50cal out there.  Up north will be cold in mid-October, but Table Mesa is only at ~2000ft, so it will be much more tolerable.  Just need to bring firewood, as there is very little on the ground out there.

I like Ted's suggestion too, but I think that Kingman has a lot to offer. Most of us haven't wheeled that area so its nice to see something new. Its closer to Cali and Nevada so it entices more out of state members to come. We've already done two scouting trips with a third coming up in a month. I am really excited as to what Kingman and CANVAZ have to offer.

This years goal to get cali and Nevada guys into canvaz by picking a location closer to them. Once they are hooked in 3 years we can choose a phx location.

Also there is already alot of time invested in Kingman already cant turn back and start over. But table mesa/ crownking would be nice for the following AZ turn.

The scouting is always good for anytime in the future, how many cali and Nevada guys have committed?

Does Nevada have any forums?
How many does Cali have?

I think after our next pre run we will have most of it planned out.

Nevada guy here. We dont have a forum but pretty much all of us are on the Silverstatenissan Facebook page, feel free to post up there if you want. I think once the dates are posted there will be more interest. I really want to go, its the camping thing that is holding me back a little since I dont have anything but I am working that out.

Ok, so 10/14 is the date. Next step is to get everything I need to camp, then decide if the wife can handle it or If I go solo. Never been there

Yes it's happening that weekend. Plan accordingly. If you arrive earlier, that's also an option as some of us may be in the area 10/13 or sooner.
