Hi everyone! My name is Joe Fanaselle, and I'm an Xterra owner currently living in the Temecula area of Southern California and working in San Diego. I've met a very small number of you at events in the past, including CANVAZ 2015 in Big Bear. My parents recently purchased a home in the southeast part of Arizona in Hereford, near Sierra Vista. I've made my way out there a couple times already, and plan to make some trips to that region in the future in the Xterra for some camping and exploring. I figured I'd join up and introduce myself instead of just lurk for a while. :)

I own a 2010 S model 4X4 with quite a few mods. I'll create a build thread some point in the near future, but in short, here's what I have done:

1) About a 3" lift with a PRG Advanced kit w/ Rad 2.5s in the front and a shackle and AAL in the rear.
2) 285 75 16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs on early-version "Off Road" six spoke wheels (the silver painted ones, not the machined ones)
3) Full armor including front Calmini winching/plate bumper with "Safari Guard," rear Bucksnort non-tire carrier bumper, Shrockworks sliders, and full set of Hefty skids (currently have an aluminum Hefty front bumper in production that will replace the Calmini in a couple of months once it's completed)
4) Fully isolated dual battery setup with tons of electrical accessories, radios and lights (I LOOOOOVE lights. haha!)
5) OBA setup with ARB twin compressor
6) IF full replacement aluminum roof rack with Gobi ladder, Gobi toolbox, Baja hi-lift mount, 2 two gallon rotopax cans and ARB awning
7) Airflow snorkel

I'm just about to complete an axle swap in which I'm replacing the C200 (geared in 3.13) with an e-locked M226 (geared in 3.36). I'll be swapping out the front diff for a 3.36 R180 as well, to correct the gearing. Eventually, I'll Titan swap, but for now, I'd rather break the project up and enjoy being able to fit my X in my garage for a while still.

I've been a HAM radio operator since I was 13 years old, license K6FAN, and I have a Yaesu FT7800 dual band mobile mounted in my rig, plus a couple of Yaesu FT60 Handheld radios that I frequently bring with me.

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know some of you better and getting information about exploring the vast areas southeast of Tucson, and maybe even meeting up for a run sometime. :) I'm a huge fan of the state of Arizona in general, and would move there in a second if I could bring my job/income with me. California is becoming less and less desirable of a place to live, and you don't really get the wonderful things you used to for the extra cost of living out here. That, and the freedoms that this state continues to take away from me are really starting to wear me thin. Trouble is, I was born and raised here and so was my wife, and it's tough to uproot your entire life and move away. We'll see if it's something I can pull off eventually.  8)

Here's a couple fairly-recent photos of my rig. Since these were taken, I've added 1.5" wheel spacers and trimmed the front fenders a tiny bit. I also removed/sold the Hefty tire-carrier rear bumper and replaced it with a bucksnort non-tire carrier, and re-vised my rear light-bar mount (I removed the 20" light bar and replaced it with an externally-mounted whelen 3rd brake light and two smaller rear-facing LED lights).

Very nice rig and welcome.
Anytime you're in the state wanting to wheel/camp/even hang out make sure to post it. There is always somebody itching to to get out and meet people.

Welcome to the club. I believe we have one or two members in the Sierra Vista area. Youll have to post up whenever you are in town and maybe we can make a trail run out of it.

Not part of the Instagram group, but I suppose I should at least start following them. I believe that Instagram page is run by the same people who run the So Cal Xterras and Frontiers Facebook page. I am with the SCCX group here (So Cal Club Xterra), actually a member of the BOD. The facebook group has a lot of the same members as SCCX, but there are quite a few on FB who just don't do the whole "forum" thing, and plenty on SCCX who are faceless in the book of Zucker, so it's nice to keep an eye on both to stay up to date on the happenings around here.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! :)

A couple questions, why the rubber band on the antenna? I'm sure it's obvious why but does it help?

Also, since you are a HAM please post in the HAM section. There are a few of us who are studying to do the test, myself included.
