Southern Utah Trip - June 23-25, 2017

(1/6) > >>

Hey guys! Long time, no see.

Anybody interested in a trip to see southern Utah June 23-25? It'd be atleast two nights of camping, since it's about ~5-6 hours from both Phoenix and SLC. I haven't made any firm decisions about location yet, but depending on everybody's interests, I'd be up for The Wave/White Pocket (at the AZ/UT border) area, then further up into the Grand Staircase-Escalante NM. Or we could go a bit further north into Bryce Canyon and then Capitol Reef to hit two national parks.

Anybody interested? I'm up for suggestions, too. I know Moab/the Canyonlands area is pretty far for a lot of Phoenix/Tuscon folks, so I thought this area would be more accessible.

Proposed route so far, near Kanab, UT and Page, AZ for easy gas stops.

Camping at White House Campground on Friday night, then Alstrom Point at Lake Powell on Saturday night.,-111.8903124/37.0777747,-111.6622674/37.1971136,-111.6614982/37.2892343,-111.5303651/37.0598482,-111.3639105/@37.0966157,-111.8088314,10z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0

Hammer (Avi):
You know I'm down.  See you then  :)

Almost impossible for me for june-August to take a weekend off

This sounds like fun, especially with a trail guide that know the terrain already. I can most likely swing the time off.

Thupertrooper (Victor):
Maybe do some monument valley trails.
