Southern Utah Trip - June 23-25, 2017

<< < (2/6) > >>

You'll need a guide for most anything in Monument Valley, or Canyon design Chelly. Hunts Mesa, is worth the cost though..

Depending on my job situation I may be down

Awesome! I'm glad to see there's interest!

Monument Valley would be cool, but from what I've heard there's not much self-touring there.

Here's what I've got so far as a possible route, which is close to Page, AZ and Kanab, UT for gas purposes, depending on what route you take.,-111.8903124/37.0777747,-111.6622674/37.1971136,-111.6614982/37.2892343,-111.5303651/37.0598482,-111.3639105/@37.0966157,-111.8088314,10z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0

We could camp Friday night at White House Campground if it's not too busy, depending on how many vehicles come. It's also a hiking trailhead, so if it's too busy/not big enough, we could find a back-up spot for dispersed camping somewhere else.

Then Saturday we could head out onto Nipple Creek Rd (what an interesting name), which connects to Heads of the Creek Rd (which I'm looking up more info on), then to Smoky Mtn Rd. We would take that back down towards Lake Powell, where we could set up camp for the night at Alstrom Point. It looks pretty damn nice:

More pics here, scroll down a bit:
