  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

Sunday April 9 Redington pass (Tucson)
« on: April 04, 2017, 05:25:14 PM »
I am planning to head out reddington pass Sunday. I will be hiking the last 1/2 mile or so to chivo falls to avoid bumper damage.

Any one interested?

Ended up going out in one vehicle, hiked down to three feathers, drove up past the staging area, turned off towards chivo falls, the road is a lot worse than acouple of years ago.

The First two road forks are washed out and tight off camber, and the first wash crossing i smacked the radiator skid. They would require very careful line selection to get through in a stock frontier or full size truck.

Since i did not get  out of the vehicle to assess a line, trail demage is two scraped wheels, and a decently dented radiator skid.

When we ran this for CANVAZ 2014 I remember it was pretty rough. We all made it through though.

I could have made it, maybe dragging a bumper, but i had no spotter, and did not want to risk it.
