I have a 2008 xterra and just went through the smod issue, now it is running hotter and higher then before, anyone experience this?

Have a big drive coming up and do not want to break down on the drive

Did you replace the radiator, thermostat, and flush the cooling system after said SMOD happened?

Fans should come oon when the coolant gets hot. Also fans will come on with the a/c on. To burp the system you remove the radiator cap. Start the vehicle. Let it get hot. Once the thermostat opens the coolant will flow. Top off coolant as the air escapes. Whole process should take about 30 min if done right.

When burping lifting the front end a little with a floor jack helps. Also turn on the heater at full blast.

If the coolant is cold the fans should not come on. Once temp rises and the thermostat opens the fans are controlled on by the coolant temp.
