What can possibly go wrong?
« on: November 08, 2017, 05:21:34 PM »
So here I am, shopping for an inside-the-rails roof basket, like Hep Designs, and the prices range from $900-1700.  So I'm thinking to myself, I can get a MIG welder for $600, pay someone to learn how to weld ($150), spend $200 in materials, and have a basket for the same price (or much less).  Hell, I could sell the welder after I'm done, and have a Hep Design type basket for $350 or so.

So what am I missing that is obvious to everyone else?

BTW - my welding class is December 21st  ;)

Reach out to Xzilla or Whattha on here. They both build the baskets.

Never even thought about the electromagnetic interference - thanks!!!

Fortunately, only body/frame welding I'm planning right now is a stripped OHV frame my son picked up :)
