  • jcm45: Hi everyone, I just joined up here and am looking for some advice. Anyone have a shop they recommend for their Xterra? I just purchased an 02 and discovered the seller managed to cover up a thrown rod so likely need a new engine. I've called a few shops and most seem to not be overly familiar with them. I don't want someone inexperienced potentially doing something wrong or milking the labor. Can anyone recommend a shop that's had this done before?

How is it secured?  I've had bad experiences mounting things to sheet metal.

Iíll have to install a large aluminum sub plate
ď12x12x.250Ē maybe.   Once I take the trim off and get a good look inside there Iíll know more. Iím hoping I can get the gas jug to rest on the bumper also

Did you pull it off, Rimwalker? I guess it'd be doable by adding a large aluminum subplate.
