  • jcm45: Hi everyone, I just joined up here and am looking for some advice. Anyone have a shop they recommend for their Xterra? I just purchased an 02 and discovered the seller managed to cover up a thrown rod so likely need a new engine. I've called a few shops and most seem to not be overly familiar with them. I don't want someone inexperienced potentially doing something wrong or milking the labor. Can anyone recommend a shop that's had this done before?

Charoleau Gap run 11/23???
« on: November 13, 2018, 03:57:28 PM »
I was thinking about coordinating a run through Charoleau Gap on the Friday after Thanksgiving.  If there is some interest I will make it official.

The Gap is a really well known 4x4 trail that runs about 20 miles between Catalina, AZ and Oracle, AZ.  It is incredibly scenic and very challenging.  The trail has been getting progressively worse over the last few years and I would recommend rock sliders at the very least.  I think a mostly stock rig could do it but the sliders would be a must.

Post up if you are interested.

i have only been up to kiss rock. lots of hitch and frame dragging when i was stock.

i am interested to run the full thing. on some older youtube videos it looked like a major boulder field in a wash?

Yes, there are some great camping spots.  We could make a weekend out of it for sure.

There is a slight possibility I can go. Do you normally have Fridays off, or is it just for the holiday.
