  • jcm45: Hi everyone, I just joined up here and am looking for some advice. Anyone have a shop they recommend for their Xterra? I just purchased an 02 and discovered the seller managed to cover up a thrown rod so likely need a new engine. I've called a few shops and most seem to not be overly familiar with them. I don't want someone inexperienced potentially doing something wrong or milking the labor. Can anyone recommend a shop that's had this done before?

New member looking for Xterra
« on: May 10, 2019, 07:12:54 AM »
Hello all! Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm interested in buying a crew cab Frontier or an Xterra in the future. I'd be using it mostly as a daily driver, but would also use it for mild trails and camping. I currently have a 2003 Jeep Rubicon for crawling, but it lacks room for taking my 4 year old camping.

I look forward to learning about the Xterra and Frontier so that I can pick the right example to buy. I have attached a pic of my dad's Xterra.

Welcome aboard Matt. Your in the right place. There's lots of really awesome rigs here to help you make the choice. In the gallery you'll find find all sorts of build set ups and options. Unfortunately the aftermarket doesn't offer a lot of options which causes the prices of the parts that are out there to be quite high. Here's my 2016 Frontier Pro4x. It has factory skid plates front to rear, a factory rear locker for those tougher obstacles, a cb set up with an NMO mount a bilstein 5100 series level. Hope this helps.

Looks like a nice rig! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I'm thinking pro-4x would be the way to go.
