2020 CANVAZ Planning
« on: November 03, 2019, 04:37:52 PM »
Starting this post to throw some ideas out for next years CANVAZ run that will be hosted by us. Just a brainstorming post nothing official yet.

Event will be in October 2020 Minimum Fri-Sun but depending on trail I might make it available to start since Thursday for anybody wanting a longer event.
We will like to have different levels of trail difficulty for different levels of rigs/driver experience but keep the camp centralized to keep back and forth travel to a minimum.

Feel free to post any ideas and suggestions.

I have been looking into the area around Quartzite. There are trails in the AZ Trail book in that area. Being that it is pretty much on the CA border we might be able to get some CA peeps to attend.

Thats a good one. After talking to some of the Nevada guys They requested camping in higher altitude just for the pines. But that limits the trails just have really nice camp sites.

Thinking also East area by Globe and Superior. Also closer to prerun in order to help plan better.

Aren't there some trails by the Mogollon Rim? Plenty of good camping for sure. I have hiking and camped there tons, never did any real off roading so I dont know what's around there. That time of year would be perfect, no crowds, crisp morning. Should still be extra green and muddy from the Monsoons.

In for pre runs. What’s up by sheep’s bridge, anything worth considering?

There are plenty of spots out east.
Not sure if ill be able to pre run any spots as far as kingman again.
Sorry guys been busy with life and I l should be back to the club.

For CANVAZ you have to remember that we get avg 15 rigs so the area needs to be big enough to have us together enough for us that like to camp close by

also the trails need to have camp spots nearby so we are not spending it mostly on the highway.

We did sheeps bridge for kickoff run once and it was pretty nice but not for a big event.
