Meeting - May 7th - Somewhere
« on: April 19, 2010, 09:13:34 AM »
Someone wanna give some ideas for the May meeting???

The map that you guys put your home locations on showed everyone equally spread out. So, how about a west side this time?

I'd really like to see a place that has adequate parking this time.  ::)

My idea is the Native New Yorker over by Cabela's (Loop 101 and Glendale Ave). They have a patio that is over looking the parking lot so we can not only brag about our trucks but we can point at them too.  ;D

Lets pick a location by Friday, the 23rd.

Have we given consideration to maybe either a park, or a dealership?

The only parks I know about are the ones that we've had prior year's chili cookoffs at (one was in central Phoenix and one was on the west side).  As for dealerships, everyone seemed to have a good time when we were at ABC Nissan back in September (Pink Heals event).

What about the park on Thunderbird just off the 101?  I don't remember the name but you can reserve a pavillion like we did in Surprise.  At least it isn't too far west and it is off a main road.

That sounds like a good location, Defib.  Is it called Rio Vista Community Park?
So since you made the suggestion for a park close to your house, your going to be coming, RIGHT?  ;)

You too, AZ-Ted, good suggestion... Is it called Dreamcatcher Park?

Something to think about also, if there is only a few of us showing, we might want to pick a place that those people would prefer... i.e location, type, time. There's no problem at all with keeping it low key this month.

For a small group... maybe we should go to new place Ted's...  :o (I'm acutally serious in suggesting that).

Keep in mind the planning process... The more planning, the harder it is... and if anyone wants to organize something or just help, please, please do! I have so much on my plate with club stuff and with personal stuff, so even little help is so appreciated. Taking the reins is really a big job when you strive to do your best and when you try to make everyone happy. As I have found, in only the past couple months, it has been very stressful and upsetting. But I'm here for you guys no matter what. So, I'm just not sure if I can organize anything other than a restaurant or park meeting (or something simular) right now.  ;)

Unfortunately, I work May 7th.  All of the clubs meeting and activities now fall on my weekends to work.  It can't be helped.  Momma needs shoes. ;D

The Native new Yorker sound good. Good food and we can lie about our other child (Our X's)
The problem from the last meeting , although it was good food and every is great! is we did not do a good job doing show and tell in the parking lot.

Just a thought! ???

Yeah, I'm up for the Native New Yorker for May's meeting.  Maybe in the future we can do a park or dealership - just to change it up a bit.

Hey, I was just thinking...there is a cleanup at Table Mesa on the 8th.  What do you guys and girls think about having the meeting there?

I like the  Table Mesa Cleanup idea, but my input is moot.

My time is getting to short coming up on goneMOAB, I need all the spare time I have between now and gone to finish the Xterra full replacement roof rack.
Too bad, even if it is going out and picking up some trash I enjoy getting out of the city.

Wont be making this meeting, regardless of where its held.

Wally and I will be at the Native New Yorker on Friday for the meeting.

Sounds like a great idea if you guys want to "extend" the meeting through to Saturday to do the Table Mesa clean up too.

We also have the Lake Pleasant clean up that I already planned with the park on the 16th... I don't think anyone is interested in this anymore, but at the least, two of us will be there.  ;)

Sorry if I missed it in another thread, but what time should people arrive for the May meeting?

About 7pm is fine. Some people get off work earlier and some later, so anytime is fine really.
I'm not going to ask them set up a formal group for this time (there isn't going to be a lot anyway). So, just make your way to the patio when ever and sit where ever and others can join as they come in.
