  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

new x to the forum.
« on: June 21, 2009, 06:06:45 PM »
hello everyone!!

My name is Aaron. and i have had my xtera for about a year and a half. i have a 2005 white se. if you ever go on to thenewx.org or clubfronter.com you may have seen me. i want to start getting more and more involved with the xterra community in az!

i am a 2x4 and do not do much off roading. however. i have alot of performance mods, such as a cold air intake, doug thorley headers, magnaflow high flow converters, deleted 2nd cats, new y-pipe, a flowmaster muffler, and wrp underdriven crank pully.

i love to work on my x and if any of you need help installing something, i have some machanical know how. so dont feel bad about asking! i would love to spend a day in my garage helping out other xterras for a mod day.

as of right now im in the middle of a pretty big project. i have ordered a sts turbo sytstem. and installation begins weds morning. i have a lot todo! such as a 255 lph fuel pump, 550 cc injectors, and the whole turbo system including oil pump and all the jazz. some of you may of heard of uprev. its a custom tuning software which is what i will need to tune my engine for the turbo. on wends. at 10 am. i will be at xact dyno aka superior racing development in tempe where they will tune and dyno the x. anyone who wants to come and check out the work more then welcome to come and see! just let me know. the  x will be there for about a week  i plan to get about 330-340 to the wheels.

thats just what i have planned for right now. and i hope you meet you all soon and i cant wait to become a member in the az xterra community!

of course! dyno chats, a/f with ratios, time slips, videos pics, and a write up of coruse. also id like to meet a couple of you guys at the track sometime, that would be fun!

yes uprev does all nissans. i will be the 3rd xterra and first vq40 to be turbo charged. uprev is awesome, totally custom. nothing is off the shelf. here is there site. feel free to call richard. he is the man. and xact dyno is the only tuner in az certified to use uprev.

Hey Aaron!  I saw your posts on thenewx.  I just ordered 3.36 gears myself so I should be talking to you in the future.  You got them installed at a shop right?  How much?

nice! good choice. ya! i got them installed at az differential specialists/ its th best shop in az to get them done. Nate Warren is the owner, he is a super cool guy. and he even let me stand next to him and i learned alot! i got it done for 250. it covered oil parts and laybor. overall it was a good deal. and a much better performance as well. small but noticable!

btw, where are you located?

Umm...yeah AZ DIFFERENTIAL is a great shop. I have talked with Nate a few times and always steers me straight. He quoted me over half the price any other shop did to install gears in my axles. I got referred to him by a mutual friend.
