  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

Thanks for the heads up Marshall.

If you have never been to the Fat Tire/Toys 4 Tots event, it is a kick a$$ event that we volunteer our trucks & time at in conjunction with SWANKy. We provide SAG (stop and go) support along the 65mi course for the bike riders. There is a raffle and a fajita dinner provided afterwards. breakfast Sunday is also provided, if you are awake after a night of drinking FREE New Belgium beer.  8)

All proceeds benefit Marine League Charities & Flagstaff Toys 4 Tots. The Nissan crew has been involved in this event for many many years. Last year we had something like 23 trucks & donated nearly $1000 as a group; in addition to all the raffle tix purchased... It is always good times.  8)

Most people head up Friday afternoon, camp then work the event Saturday, camp, then head out Sunday morning. Mark your calendars and ask your boss for a Friday afternoon off.  ;)

Date is saved as a definite, although my attendence will be determined by the status of the new addition to the family arrival is pushed up or still toward the end of August....

I hope to pass on the Critchley name........

Think they will fill an igloo water cooler full of beer this year?

I already took the 8th and 9th off to make this event. We are going to camp one extra night on our way back home.

Hey Marshall, were you able to find out about becoming an "official sponsor" of the Fat Tire event?  It would be cool if we could get a little more exposure for the club (on the t-shirts).  Like T-Ray mentioned, we raised a lot of money last year, so I would think we would be able to duplicate that this year.

I emailed 'the Michelle's' directly yesterday expressing our interest in becoming an 'official' sponsor & maybe a logo on the shirts, haven't heard back yet.  ??? I imagine the deadline would be no less than 30 days out from the event though.

Looks like $1000 to have our logo on the back of the shirt

Interesting...I know that in previous years, it was only $500.  I cannot front the $1,000.  I would be willing to put up whatever the entrance fee for the riders is...something like $120 - unless that went up too.

I think I read that the riders fee was only $100. I originally thought it was $125 also.

Weeeelll...I heard back from the Michelle's about sponsoring the event. It is, as stated above, $1000 to have our logo on the shirts, banner hung up at the staging area, and name mentioned during the raffle, etc; I'm not sure if AZXC will be able to make the sizeable matching donation from club funds that we did last year.  ??? ??? It was really cool handing over (nearly) $1000 that the members worked some hard football games to make possible.  8)

That said, I'm of the same mindset as Ted - we'd be willing to pony up the rider fee for Lindsey AND for me, plus an extra $50 each on behalf of Winnie & Teddy ;) :-*. So, between Ted, me, Lindsey, Winnie, & Teddy - we've got roughly $400 total promised towards the $1000.

Artwork & money is due by June 1st in a .EPS format.

If this is something AZXC wants to do,  we're in. Otherwsie we'll just buy a s*** ton of raffle tickets.  ;D

Thanks Tim!  I got the idea about donating the same amount as the rider's fee from Marcus, so I'm pretty sure he'll be doing the same thing.  With this in mind, we are already halfway to our goal!!!

We only need a few more folks to commit to donate the rider's fee amount, and we'll have reached the threshold to be an official sponsor!

I might be up for this again, had a great time last year.  My buddy that came with me last year wants to ride it this year so he may drive up seperately.  I will have the wife and kid with me this time if we come.

I wouldn't mind taking a few day before or after and making the whole trip from Tucson a backcountry adventure.

I will have to check with the accountant to see if there are funds for this.  I hope to donate even if I am not able to make the event.
