Looks like I might be able to attend this year.  That is if a Jeep is ok to have along.

From the Fat Tire website www.flag2gc.com) talking about the rider's fee:  "$120 - Registration fee includes ride t-shirt, one platinum raffle ticket, sag stop food, post-race dinner and breakfast. Riders are encouraged to raise extra money for donations to Toys for Tots (entry into the Infamous Raffle!)"

So, if me, and Tim, and Lindsay, and Marcus each kicked in $120, and Tim's dogs each kicked in $50 (I think I read Tim's post correctly), then we'd be at $580.  So, we'd only need $420 to get to the $1,000 threshold to be an "official" sponsor.  We need to submit the money by the end of May, so time is getting short.

Can anyone else donate some money?  We have quite a few members, and quite of few of you enjoy the Fat Tire run.  Please give what you can, so that we can at least match last year's donation (of $1,000).  Every little bit helps - each member giving $10 or $20 would allow us to reach our goal and then some.

I'm not actually an official club member.  Need to send someone my dues as I never show up for meetings for about the last 3 years.  I'm a possible, if I do go then it will probably just be my daughter and I as the wifey will be 2 months away from popping our 2nd Sprog at that time.

So consider me a definite maybe.

And whoever the treasurer is these days - if you wanna PM me your Addy I'll shoot a check over for my dues.  We'll probably buy a ton of raffle tickets while we're there rather than make a big donation like last year.  Unless it gets close and we decide not to go - then I'm good for $100 or so.

I'm technically not a member either, as I haven't paid my dues this year.  I have only been to 3 Fat Tire runs, but there were some non-Nissans along for the ride each year.  In fact, two years ago, I brought an H3 (my X was in the shop).

Well I'm a little late on posting but it's June something and there have been no more post about making the grade. I'll have to assume we didn't make it in as official sponsors  >:( no thanks to my help.

I will also be attending and since this will be my first Fat Tire event, don't know the process. Do I have to register as a rider or any other entity? How much camping gear is needed since were getting dinner and Sunday breakfast (I was thinking of boot/trunk camping) to save the hassle of tents? Should I bring a friend to pass the time on the trail? Doesn't seem very kid friendly or at least kid boring. Etc.

How crazy that this would be my first camping with the group and over 20 years since my last camping (besides the RV). Thats why I'm asking for advise. Thanks

We are support for the ride, we don't register or anything.  Just plan those days to be there and i will take care of the rest.

Thanks,

Marshall

From my knowledge of the area, the area the ride is in is on the other side of Flag from where the fires have been so far.  The small fire near Williams shouldn't impact the area the ride runs through.  I imagine that unless monsoon season hits early there would be camp fire bans tho with the activity they have had up there to date.
