4 Peaks Road

<< < (2/3) > >>

AZ-Ted:
Depends on what part of Mesa:

You could take Country Club north until it turns into Beeline Highway (SR87) somewhere north of McKellips.  Continue on SR87 north past Fort McDowell, past Bush Highway, and then you'll see the turnoff for 4 Peaks Road.  Take a right and follow 4 Peaks Road (FR143) as far as you like.

Another way to get there is to take Power Road north until it turns into Bush Highway.  Continue on Bush Highway past the marina, past Butcher Jones, and then turn right (north) at the intersection of the Beeline Highway (SR87).  Take SR87 north until you see the signs for 4 Peaks Road.  Take a right onto 4 Peaks Road (FR143), and drive as far as you like.

***Sometimes there is snow/ice on 4 Peaks Road in the winter time - depending on weather conditions, 4 Peaks Road can be easily passable in 2WD, or it could be 4x4 only.***

Thanks AZ-Ted.  I'm coming from East Mesa so the Power to Bush Hwy route will work better for me.  Wanna take my boy out next weekend for a little trail driving.  At 4 he's taking a liking to the X.  Only reason I keep those step rails on is for him. :)

4 peaks on 3-3-13 around 1300 hrs.

How rough was the road? I've been on the road a few times and sometimes its smooth and other times its washboards the whole way.

Wasn't too bad.  I did hit a few sections that were washboards but not for too long and not that frequent.  A lot of sand and gravel areas though with it being dry and right after a good rain a week or so back.
