Hunting for tires!
« on: August 11, 2010, 10:37:00 PM »
Couldn't find another area to post in, so hope this works!

Since I am trying to get back out there, I need to get new tires, which is turning out to be harder than expected. I am currently running 265/75/16 Revos with two of them on their last breath and two have another 10-15k on them easy. I've looked at Firestone and they have 2(!) Revo 2 tires in all of state of Arizona and are having a hell of a time getting them. Same goes for Destination A/T. Apparently it's some unusual size to stock.

So I am thinking of either waiting out until they somehow hunt down the two tires I need or giving up and seeing if they got 4 of Destination A/Ts 285/75/16. It's a bit more than I'd like to spend at once, but doesn't seem like I have a choice. If anyone got other suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

P.S. If I do get 4 new tires in a size other than 265/75/16, my 2 Revos will be up for grabs for some decently low place to anyone interested :)

I went with Hankook Dynapro ATM's (265's), from Discount, and have been happy with them. Next to no road noise on pavement and the few times I have had them off road performed really well.  When these where out I will more than likely go with them again in a 285.

Good Luck.

I'm at 40k miles on my Destination A/T's and they still have another 15k left in em, way way way better than the BFG crap that was on from the factory.  I'll certainly condider another set when it's time to buy again.

Ha! So Firestone came through and hunted down the two last Destinations in the state. Should get them put on today/tomorrow. I will be an abomination of a truck, half Bridgestone, half Firestone.... FireBridge?

Next up, figure out what to replace my leaky rear shocks with.

I highly recommend the Bilsteins.  I'm on my second set and still love them.
