The Coves @ Saguaro Lake - April 9th
« on: March 24, 2011, 10:58:19 PM »
I'm thinking of heading out to the third cove @ Saguaro Lake on April 9th.  Who's interested?  4WD Mandatory.

EDIT:  Meet at the Baja/Chevron gas station on SR-87 at 8:30 am. The gas station is on the opposite side of the road from Fort McDowell Casino (about 2 miles north of Shea Blvd).

Here is a link to a Google map of the gas station:

Very Tempting to try and do this, I just haven't been getting much work lately. Would give me a chance to stretch the new shocks.! :)

If you do go, let me know if Cliff will be coming along.  Cooper asked just yesterday when he could play with him again!

^^Awesome!!!  It will be good to see you again Tim, and I never get tired of seeing your truck flex.  I'm taking it easy too, just going out to the third cove, hang out for awhile, and then head back.

I'm kinda interested to tag along on my ATV and just park the Titan at the trail head.  Don't you need one of those Blue Pass thingies to park in Butcher Jones area and even beyond the gate in the Off Road area?

Anyone mind an ATV tagging along?

^^ the mud is not that bad - as long as you don't get crazy with the wheel spin.  I've found that when I take it easy in muddy conditions, the cleanup is much less than when I'm blasting around in the mud.

Mud is one thing - I hate it. But I also do not have a sunroof and only 1 window that rolls up, the rest are stuck in the down position  ;)

You afraid you will melt or something? ;D

I'll be meeting at the Chevron by the casino. Friend from work is wanting to ride along so picking him up at the Casino.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

I think i have a couple rain ponchos in the X, I'll also bring some painters tape in case we need to do a quick "rain fly" mod to the trailer princess ;D

I'll be there.  We'll see what the rain does to the trails...could be interesting.

Wow what a day! I had a blast! just wanna thank you guys for all the spotting and putting up with my slooowww wheeling. Definitely a day to remember for me, can't wait for the next one. The only thing that kinda sucked about today is cleaning all that mud off the X, it took me 3hrs just to get chunks of mud off & clean the driveway. But it was all worth it!
