  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

'08 and '09 were certainly dry, and '10 it rained to beat hell.. Hopefully, we'll see a good soaking w/o being so much they call the race again.

'07 was muddy, as well (my first Fat Tire run).  There are scattered thunderstorms scheduled for Flag all week.  Hopefully we have some mud puddles to play in, but hopefully not too wet to make camping suck.

Remember all the mud from the Saguaro Lake run?  LOL I still have mud and dirt under my truck!  Hope we don't have too much mud!

Great pics dan.

It was so dusty and dry two years ago, for my first Fat Tire, I was cleaning dust from every nook and cranny for months.

Isolated and Scattered T-Storms all week up by the Grand Canyon......

Fingers crossed it isn't too bad.

It gets colder at night up in the hills.  Low 40s and even mid 30s is not uncommon overnight.  Daytime temps in the 70s, 80s, and possibly low 90s.  Along with shorts and flip flops, I'm also bringing a jacket, jeans, and hiking boots.

Yup, getting my layers all washed this week. And bought Lee his own little 30* mummy bag. It's funny, his feet are like 2 feet from the end of it...

Oh, and we also figured that since we're staying at end camp, Heather and the baby can stay there during the day and me and Lee will head out to the sag point. This'll leave me with 2, maybe 3 seats for riders if need be and can take down a couple bikes and put them in the back.

Looks like good weather over the weekend, anything is better than the 110 today in Phoenix. I have a great photo collage of all the license plates covered in mud from last years. Is that legal? Can't wait for this year. Are our frs radios going to work since it seem everyone now has cb's?

Everyone has CB's but in my opinion bring the FRS radios as well just in case as a back up.

I didn't go last year so lets see the pics, post em up!

I'll have my two FRS radios as well as back up.

Going to get all my gear washed up and ready to go.

Looking forward to the trip and copious amounts of Fat Tire. :)
Ditto!!!  Think I may bring some of my brewery growlers I have in the pantry to fill for camp on Saturday after the festivities........
