Sunny, look up 'Steel Bender, The Drop' on youtube. There's a stock front bumper X with a 2" lift doing it so I figure if he did that trail, then I will challenge myself and do it also. But after you watch that video, you'll see we 100% will need a rad skid... ;)

What about the drive, any thoughts on that, now that I've talked to a few people they say driving through the Indian Res at night maybe not a good idea, is it truly a 12 hour trip or more like what google maps is saying, 7.5-8.25hrs?

If you're driving at night through the res pack heat!  We were in a caravan and stopped a few times and took our time.  Driving all night and then a trail plus the after hours activities you'll be exhausted.  But it's you and I don't know if you are up for being up that long.

Phoenix to Moab is 8-9 hours with stops for gas and lunch...in a SAS'd 1st gen on 35" tires, loaded with gear & beer for a week ;)

Skids and sliders are strongly recommended on Steel Bender.  There is a section called Rubble Trouble (sp??) that will be absolutely no fun without armor.

As with any trails, the trail leaders have the right to turn away any trucks that are not equipped for the trail (for example, they would never allow a stock truck on any Black trails).  In fact, they did turn away one stockish truck from Steel Bender last year.

So driving straight through and basically just stopping for gas it can be done in 8 hours, correct? Thats what its sounding like to me, I dont own a gun and as long as I dont break down, I should be ok going through the Res or do some crazy maybe drinking indians stop people and cause problems? I dont know, I have never driven through there, so I'm trying to figure out if it's a good or bad idea, maybe I won't be able to make it this year.

You can make it through fine, just keep an eye out for stumbling people on the road.  I almost hit someone on the res back in school driving through at night.  8 hours should be doable if you drive it straight through.  If you do stop for gas make sure its a well lit gas station and such. Basic common sense I guess.

Why is everyone so afraid of the res? We cruised thru there no problem during the day both ways. Stopped at Sonic for lunch, I bought some stray dogs some footlong hot dogs, gased the rigs, and took off.

Yeah, I think if I do it, I will have to plan ahead and call ahead and find gas stations open 24 hours because my X is only getting about 265 miles on a full tank, so after filling up in Flagstaff I will still need 1 more gas top off from there to Moab. Like you said plan ahead and I should be able to do it just a matter of will I or not, driving at night by myself, hmmmm?

If you don't you will regret it.  Ted and I had the same conclusion about Moab last year when it was our first time.  Yeah we will go and see what this is about and after a day into we were already talking about next year.  It is something that must be done.  You will have the time of your life out there.
