I was quoted $680 from Alcan for a 5" full replacement leaf pack. Just got off the phone with Dunbar and they quoted me $450 for a re-arch and add a left, they told me I'd probably get 3"-4" out of it. I asked what the cost of another add a leaf and said it would be anothe $150. So $600 if I get the re-arch and 2 add a leafs. $450-$600 with my original leafs and adds, or $680 for a brand new pack with 1"-2" more of a lift...

Definitely do not re-arch the springs.

BTW, with the Alcan's, you do not want to go bigger than 4" with the leaf pack.  You end up with a leaf pack WAY to arched, which will cause lateral (side to side) issues.  You put too much lateral pressure on the leafs, causing them to wear pre-maturely.  What you want to do, if 5" is your desired height, is to go with a 3" lift leaf pack and a 2" shackle.  The shackle will help the spring flex WAY better, and you'll still the get the height you want.  This is the best solution to go to 5".

VERY IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE:
On the 2nd Gen X, if you go over 4", you HAVE to do the driveshaft mod, otherwise you will wear out the seal and bearings prematurely on the transfer case.  Even with a 4* shim, it's going to cause issues.  You MIGHT be able to get away with using the driveshaft from an X with a c200 rear axle because those are about 1/2" longer along with the 4* shim, but it's WELL worth it to get the parts from Tom Woods DS (about $150 shipped) and get your driveshaft modified at a driveline shop here in AZ (about $150),  You will get a double cardon instead of the CV joint, which is significantly stronger and serviceable on the trail if it ever blew up.

While going over 4" seems awesome, that is the tipping point between just getting a $680 leaf pack and axle shim to adding on another $300-350 to get the driveshaft modified.

Thank you so much for all of that info. I'll have to get a new quote at 4". As for the driveshaft mod, will that still be applicable on a 2wd? I plan for a full 7" lift in the rear and 7.5" in the front to level it out. Any futher suggestions for that? I plan for 5" suspension while SlapshotKing advised no higher than 2" bl so thats where that came from.
