  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

Apache Trail (Route 88) Day trip
« on: August 02, 2009, 10:28:35 PM »
Decided to take a day trip on Historic Apache trail which I started just east of Phoenix today. Pretty cool place. As if you all didn't know!  ;D

Thanks for the pics! I'll have to put this one on my to-do list! This looks like fun and we can drop the boats in the water too!

Love this trail!!!  We take our visitors from outside AZ around this to give them good views of the great scenery.  A pleasant drive.

Yea, I love this trail. I can't think of too many places where you can get to such fantastic scenery without needing even the hint of anything but 2wd. :)

My sister and her husband are coming to visit in October from the UK.  I plan on running something like this in the Xterra with them on Sunday October 18th if anyone wanted to tag along.  Unless it's cool enough to take the 4Runner out then, but that could get a bit dusty & uncomfortable for those guys.

I do like the 4wd on the long washboard sections. You can loop back towards Phoenix via Fourpeaks. There is one section that leads down through Mesquite Wash on the east side of Tombstone Ridge that will give you some challenge.

Good stuff. Thanks. I'll need to check that way back through fourpeaks!

Ahhh, I get it now. I come up from Tucson. Normally I drive up through Florence and catch 60 to Apache Junction. One of these days I'm gonna come through Globe all the way around and back down through Florence. It seems like that route past Four Peaks is a good drive too!

If anyone wants to run this in the next couple of weekends, let me know.  I kinda wanna get the camera out and take some pics, plus get to know the route a little for when I take my sister and her husband out.

My schedule is open for the next few weeks for a Saturday run.

I have not done the trail back through the Four Peaks area, but would not mind giving it a go..
