Gun show here in PHX.  From a place down in Tucson they were up here.  I can't think of the name but I am sure Shawn will chime in shortly.

I can't remember the vendor's name. But Marcin is right; they are based out of Tucson.

No offense but the quality of a Ruger compared to a Sig Sauer is not there.

Too each is own, I dont shoot mine a ton and dont conceal carry daily. Mine is for trail runs, camping and recreational shooting rarely. So it works for me, although I have a friend that has had one for 10+ years and shoots it regularly(Army Ranger) and with normal cleaning has never had an issue.

The thing I have noticed about asking gun recs is that they are as varied as people who own guns...

Yeah I carry everyday so IMO if you do you want a gun that is proven and you know it will shoot when you need it to.

I also carry daily, but i don't understand the "I rarely use it" argument for validating lower quality, less reliable guns. Why risk it if your planning to depend on it during a trail ride. Only carrying when you think you may need it is another topic.

Its like buying a dedicated crawler but not getting a reliable one. Even if its not a daily driver, do you want to worry about or deal with break downs when you are driving it?

Like I said before I have a friend who has had one for over 10 years and never had an issue, so I would say its pretty reliable.

So one data point makes it reliable?

I'm not saying it's a bad gun but I always recommend a high quality and proven pistol when it comes to a self defense gun. I don't see any police departments using the Ruger.

government agencies have a lot more money and time to run thousands of rounds through multiple guns. there are several models I can think of where reliability is very dependent on serial number. Xxx1 might never fail but xxx2 may not be able to get through magazine without failing
